discussion What are the most effective ways to help flip NC for Biden?
Here are some of the options I've found so far:
- Volunteer as an election worker
- Volunteer with NC Democrats
- Volunteer with Democracy North Carolina. They say they're nonpartisan, not Dem-aligned, although their news page seems left-leaning--not sure what's going on with that.
- Postcarding with TurnoutPAC
- Postcarding with Field Team 6 (nicer postcards, but you have to pay for them)
I moved to NC just last year and I don't know the political landscape here. Can anyone comment on which organizations have the best reputation for getting things done? What's the most effective way to help Biden win NC?
Here's a strategy article from Swing Blue Alliance. I'm planning to watch the Organizing Strategy Session from the Democrats on Tuesday. What other resources should I know about?

discussion Haunted house in Nc
There is this house located in Lexington nc on Hampton Road. Dubbed to be the Twins House. They say it's haunted and that everything was left in place like they had to evacuate immediately. Plates of food on dinner table, table made, etc. Rumor says it has been abandoned in the 60s. I heard a story of 2 people who went to check it out at 3am and saw really supernatural and demonic things, scratching on walls and doors, when they freaked out they both ran out and said they seen the grass behind them parting as if something was walking through it behind them. Wondering if anyone here knows about it? Have not been able to find any information on it.

discussion Mark robinson
Is anyone actually voting for this joke??? The polls are tied and I refuse to believe that’s legit. I don’t actually know a single person who says they’re on board with him and I don’t sit in a political echo chamber either. Everyone I know thinks he’s absolutely batshit.

discussion Can I sell a car without title transfer
Had transmission go on my car and don’t want to pay to fix it. A mechanic at the dealership wants to buy it. He doesn’t want to transfer the title because he says he doesn’t plan on putting plates on it anytime soon, and says we can just write up a bill of sale. Is this legal/legit and is there any risk for me?
Also, the registration expired at the end of June. Am I on the hook for the property taxes that were due?

discussion High Rock Lake vacation (Lexington)
Hey y’all, my family went away from the beach rental this year, just booked a lake house on High Rock Lake.
I’ve scoured some old threads about Lexington. I see some say it’s sketchy, and I see tons of barbecue recommendations.
My questions: 1) Are there any live music venues/bars at all? I see this place High Rock Outfitters was around and seems to be trying a comeback. Others? 2) Is there a “downtown strolling area” that’s cool and safe one evening? 3) Anyone know anything about recommendations for boat rentals? 4) Is the lake clean and safe? 5) Which places rule the BBQ world?
What else should I know? We’re going in three weeks!
Thanks!

discussion Driver's permit, level I...need insurance?
My 15-year-old child will be going for the level I driver's permit in a few days. I am clear on the documents needed...except insurance. I see that level II permit requires proof of insurance, but does level I permit require it? TIA.
