People keep ignoring how bad his health is. You can't keep doing this, or there will be consequences.

The consequence? The VP takes over and picks abother VP. That’s literally it lol

This is the crux of all of this for me, and it's a world wide problem. Who cares who the leader is....it's about the party(administration) and policy. But people are stupid and we slowly heading towards Idiocracy.

The VP is even worse than the P, is the problem

Except that’s totally false?

Not if you're racist and sexist, it's not.

In all seriousness, I've never heard anything of substance said negatively about Harris except that she was a tough prosecutor in CA. Those valid critiques were entirely from the left.

Give me a break. You can't immediately assume that a person criticizing a woman of color must be racist/sexist, or those terms lose all meaning.

To be clear, I'm criticizing her from the left. And that's a key issue I have with her, is that she sells herself as progressive but falls far short in both policies she supports (like her waffling on universal healthcare) and actions she takes, and has taken.

This is a good summary of my criticism as a leftist:

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/08/11/what-kamala-harris-believes-key-issues-positions-and-votes-393807

She's comparable to a Pete Buttigieg IMO, someone who plays to identity politics and a voice of diversity to gain support, but in reality is clearly hard-set on amassing corporatist power as a career Democrat.

Her political posturing is extremely transparent ("I was that little girl..."), her positions fluid and based on polling, not principles (look at how often she dodges direct questions about her principles with non-answers like, "Well, I think we should have that conversation"), and on top of that, she's prone to atrocious word-salad answers that reveal her lack of conviction on just about any topic - or worse yet, her incompetence in many political subjects. She goes along to get along.

I don't like Biden either as a corporatist Democrat and faux progressive, but at least he has a lifetime of political experience to draw from, 8 of those being directly in the backseat to his current position. I don't trust his motives but at least I do generally trust his competence and conviction.

My point was moreso that criticisms from the right are generally sexist and/or racist in nature. I don't disagree with your critique that she's a centrist Dem who feigns herself as a progressive despite not living up to it. It's a valid and salient critique, complete with logic and receipts.

Ask a republican why they don't like her, and they'll say it's because she "seems bitchy" or "uppity" or whatever. I should have been more clear that I was specifically attempting to call out the Republican criticism of Harris for it's complete lack of substance and hate-based nature.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying, totally agree.

Yeah, that was my bad. The line between being concise and not providing enough information is apparently difficult to walk along.

Ain’t no god damn way they’re letting Kamala run for president. Her approval rating is in the dumpster because she just cannot connect with the average American.

The DNC is going to ask Biden to step aside and they’re going to nominate their preferred candidate at convention, almost certainly Newsom.

Could be for the best. Newsom would steamroll over Trump. Just a normal politician who can actually function. I think that’s all people want now.

No but if it happens before the election

…the same thing, just before the election. Tf?

You do realize if Kamala takes over and runs for president she will lose in a landslide right? Do you not remember when she didn't even get 1% of the vote after she got destroyed in the debates in 2020?

No I don’t. What kind of moron would switch to Trump because it’s Harris instead of Biden?

0

u/Hammer8584 6d ago

There is hardly any support for Joe at this point very low enthusiasm. If they switch to Harris there is basically a zero sum chance of winning.

I don’t buy it and the numbers don’t support that assertion. The main criticism they have on him is his age and being a straight white ancient boomer, Kamala taking over keeps everything about his admin essentially the same and takes care of that problem.

And everyone loses all faith in the party as they’re scrambling to cover their asses

It seems like that is the choice democrats are making. I guess they thought Kamala Harris wouldn't win vs Trump.on her own.
