It was less about repairing broken windows and more about excessive punishment for breaking windows (and other small crimes) in order to deter other crime.

The policy was aimed at overly harsh punishments on minor crimes. The idea was if they can stop minor crimes, the major ones will also slow down. It worked to a degree, but was mostly enforced in heavily black areas.

Statically, the median income of an area is a better indicator than policing. Not saying there isn't a connection, income inequality is usually just the bigger piece at play. Most the time.

Higher crime is only caught there more often because of increased policing. And the increased policing isn't actually because they are poor but because they are black. Predominantly white areas have high crime too, but not as many police to care or notice.

They are ultimately on their own. They might get friendly with AB or something, but they won't be protected. Child abusers are fair game for anyone who needs to prove they'll hurt or kill people for a gang. If they want safety they are gonna have to get approved for cells in segregation units.

It's my understanding that this is voluntary solitary confinement. The kind of schedule and housing conditions that eventually make people go insane or request reintegration into general population regardless of the risk. Ironically, these MFs are probably gonna beg for desegregation some day.

It’s seen differently. Rape between prisoners is seen as a display of dominance, while rape on the outside is seen as a sign of weakness. It doesn’t make a lot of sense but that’s how it is. That being said there’s a good chance they’ll be treated well by the Nazis since what they did was racially motivated slavery, which the Nazis support.

I can see them making exceptions for their own members because they’re not very consistent with their ideology. But they absolutely do target rapists outside their group in prison. And it’s not because of respect for women or protecting children, it’s because crimes against women and children are seen as weak and weak is the worst thing to be seen as in prison.

When they get to the first prison facility called the fish tank inmates paper check them. Which is make them provide there psi. Pre sentence investigation. If they don't have it or try lying inmates will call someone on the outside and use Google or what ever resource they need to get the information. Or dirty guards provide it.

Bottom of the Prison barrel is anyone who hurt kids. I'd speculate, it's something like, 'I might be bad, but shit...I ain't that bad.' There's voluntary segregation, gangs, but then there's the predators, and all accounts say it doesn't go well for them. So it doesn't matter if the children were Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, or otherwise, they're still kids.

Some of the Racial Segregation in prison isn't centered on a philosophy of hatred so much as a basic common denominator of survival. We have an unfortunate function born into us at birth that identifies the appearance of our parents with safety, this is according to THINKING FAST, THINKING SLOW. We're not born racist, one isn't born hating someone who looks different. We're just born distrustful of strangers, and it's entrusted to us, our culture and norms, to ensure that uncertainty doesn't become hate or distrust.

People who have charges like sex crimes or child abuse become targets for gangs. They get severely hurt by gang members trying to make a name for themselves or heavily extorted. There's a hierarchy in prisons and these 2 are at the bottom.

Well put. It's what annoys me about people locked up for crimes like Jan 6th, who complain about their prison conditions.

Yeah, prisons suck. A lot of people have protested them. But you never cared because only the "right" people had to go to prison. The moment it affected you or your family, you think prisons need improvement. 

It's that lack of empathy that I don't want to lose.

Jail cells have a toilet and running water. Maybe even a window.

Justice would be locking the two POS in a shed of the same size, with a tin roof. Hot in summer, cold in winter. No windows for them. I guess they could have a bucket once a day, for ten minutes, which is probably more than the children got.

There really is no justice for these children.

My father had the best idea for punishment of the most heinous crimes. At dawn, in a field, prisoner is given a shovel. Make the hole as deep and as wide as you can! Sunset, push them in the hole and put a metal grate over the top. Too heavy to push off. Give them half a piece of lettuce and a heaping tablespoon of water once a day. Any spiders they catch would be bonus protein. See how long they last.
