Mew looks like they’re ready to throw hands at the last second. 😂

u/Yabba_Dabba_Doofus 2d ago
You thought he was just a cute psychic-mouse-cat.
But he's actually a pyscho-house-cat, and he was born to throw hands!!
12
u/Over-Analyzed 2d ago
I mean he can throw hands, rocks, ice, electricity, everything. Mew can learn every move! 😂🤙🏻

I never feared Mew, until he hit me in the face with a surfboard.

It's strangely unsettling. Like each time a watch, it's uncomfortable. But then I don't just stop watching.

u/Qetuowryipzcbmxvn 3d ago
One of the creepiest scenes in adventure time. Literally gave me nightmares and scary stuff doesn't usually affect me.
38
u/Makal 3d ago
It doesn't help that the deer then immediately crushes Finn's legs. The whole scene is messed up.
28
u/thatcockneythug 3d ago
Adventure time has a lot of scenes like that. It even dips into existential dread at times. And the lich is genuinely terrifying villain for a kids show. Or any show, really.

u/Annual-Jump3158 3d ago
That whole episode is soooo incredibly creepy for a children's show. It's the one where Jake says all the candy people are missing because they're planning a surprise party.

u/Ill_Book_2858 3d ago
anime called nichijou. it's a slice of life comedy where a bunch of wacky stuff happens e.g. the principal of the school sumo wrestling a deer for no discernable reason

Looks more like the elk from Old Gods of Appalachia RPG (also an awesome podcast). https://www.montecookgames.com/old-gods-of-appalachia-roleplaying-game/
6
u/DisposableSaviour 3d ago
There’s an RPG? 🥹
2
u/Azrel12 2d ago
Yeah! Depending on your Patreon level, you might be lucky enough to have Steve Shell or Cam DM some of your games! (I haven't used that yet, I haven't been able to convert enough people to the podcast or game. But it is an option!)
1
u/DisposableSaviour 2d ago
I need to save up some money to get the books. I don’t like using digital for role playing.
1
u/Azrel12 2d ago
Me too. I'm hoping to get them by... I dunno, Christmas/winter holidays at the latest? Cause shiny TTRPG books are so shiny, hmm.
2
u/DisposableSaviour 2d ago
Ooh, I wonder if there are any Old Gods click-clack math rocks
2
u/Azrel12 2d ago
(I went looking, because I was I was curious.) Yes, according to here: https://www.montecookgames.com/old-gods-of-appalachia-rpg-screen-reader-friendly-text/ They might have the dice by themselves but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just in the bundle. I think because the game itself is so new - it's live since like... 2022, so I guess they're seeing what merch works?

u/holleringelk is r/comics featured artist this week and I wanted to draw something congratulatory. Originally I was just going to do the second panel but it turned into a full page as it went along. You can find her spotlight interview here.

I started frequenting r/comics because I was on the constant lookout for Elk's art. It's a delight to see when it comes up.

I love you so damn much, this is adorable as always. I very quickly became a huge fan of your work as well. Looking out for your comics has become a daily positive perk of my routine, and it's no secret that I am all about the wholesome father energy. A chuckle a day keeps the vet away. Thank you for alighting upon this subreddit with your charming presence and for your support of my work! You da best, ❤️❤️❤️

All this love and support among artists is so great to see.
That being said when do we get round two of the r/Comics civil war?

Didn't expect a death note reference. That's the hands down funniest scene in the entire show imo

Ignoring the talon-like hooves, the lack of sharp teeth on elk obviously means they’re kid-friendly and unlikely to bite your throat out.
16
u/witticus 3d ago
Yeah it’s kind of more hollering mole rat than elk. The gators have sharper teeth, lol.

Hi! Big fan here <3
I gotta say that I'm in absolute love with the way you portray the dad speaking with subdued, typical comic-book-style mouth movements, and his kid's whole upper-head moving up instead! I can hear the lack of volume control heheh!
