Just finished the DLC and i had to resort to the tear again. I understand it helps bring in more players but i hate having it as an option because im the kind of person who will result in using it if im not doing well and i hate it. I really do miss bosses being made to be beat solo.

Feel the same. Got frustrated with Rellana beat it with mimic and now feel like a fraud and don’t feel any accomplishment like beating Friede or Gael.

Friede is literally who i think back to when i was drumming up my comment. Too this day she just stomps me and it took so much trial and error to beat her. It would have been the same with a few in this DLC if not for the mimc tear (summons in general). I really hope we get another sekiro/souls as the next fromsoft game tbh

You can just not use the Mimic Tear

Lmao, you'd think the game was forcing them to use summons.

I read a similar sentiment from a guy on the Sekiro sub who hated the game. One of the things they disliked was that you only needed 2 great rune bosses to enter Leyndell, they felt that we should be made to get all the great rune bosses before entering Leyndell and it was really really lame that they allowed you to get in with just 2.

I just don't understand takes like that. The game is all about freedom so you can choose to use mimic tear or not beat all great rune bosses, but you can also restrict yourself from doing that.

Some people blame anyone but themselves for their lack of self control. That's why I find the argument of putting an accessibility mode would ruin the game laughable, just don't use it if you don't want to

Game is partially balanced around mimic tear, of course I lack self control, but would rather it just didn't exist instead like any other FromSoft game for both those reasons. Personal opinion.

Gael is PEAK FromSoft boss design. NOTHING has beaten that legendary fight, both in lore, aesthetic , and actually gameplay. A lot of the DLC seems to be tuned way too fucking much, and that doesn't help when the bosses are significantly faster than base game ones. I tried beating Rellana with lvl 3 fragments and I was getting literally 3 shotted, and that was with full armor on and vigor at like 80. Came back to her with lvl 13 fragments and the fight actually was fair and I could trade hits without being obliterated in nano seconds. Problem with this is that MOST people are not gonna have even half of my fragment levels and they are gonna suffer immensely fighting her. Miyazaki seems to have forgotten what makes a fun, challenging, and FAIR fight.

This DLC really feels like Miyazaki heard people being toxic about using summons and said "you don't get to win without summons, asshole"

If that's your mentality then lmao

But they are made to beat solo and are very doable after learning them. They are just very hard.

I'l be honest i said that after thinking the final boss was impossible to do damageless but have just seen a not hit run so i was wrong. i still believe the bosses are designed around summons but doable solo rather than vice versa.

They are not designed around summons. Meaning that they ar wnot designed with needing summons to complete. They just expect people to use summons to make the fights much easier. All of the fights are doable solo.

Every boss is designed to be beatable solo, though.

Yeah, having the option to make a boss significantly easier doesn't feel right in the end
