Defensive Driving Course for Insurance discount ? discussion

Hello all !

Has anyone taken a defensive driving course for auto insurance discount ? I am with Progressive and just moved to SC. There ae some 8 hour( for point reduction), some 4 hour online and 1 hour online too. I went to the DMV but they won't recommend any particular course.

The state I was licensed in required us to take a defensive driving course before getting a license. I get a discount for it. I also work for the state and have to take the aaa driving course yearly. I also get a discount for it.

I did the 1 hour in SC online, check with insurance company on accepted courses and companies

When I worked for the state I had to take the class. The insurance company wouldn't accept it so it gave me no discount. I'd call and see if it will help before I'd go to the trouble of taking the class.

Did the 8 hour course in like 45 minutes, you can skip through videos and the tests are common sense.
