There’s a huge gulf between enthusiastically supporting him to stay in the race, and saying that they love and support him no matter his decision. The former is completely irresponsible, and the latter is how a concerned, normal family should act without throwing him under the bus.

But his decision, publicly at least, is to stay in the race. I'm sorry, but expecting his close family to suddenly come out and undermine that is truly insane. Expecting his family to be public political operatives is really, really weird.

He’s clearly going to them for counsel, so even he isn’t 100% sold on it from all the reports we have.

Every normal, healthy, and concerned family would tell him privately it’s time to hang it up after that performance. Not unlike how we have these conversations with grandma and her keys. Nobody expects them to throw him under the bus or be political operatives, but it stands to reason that most normal, healthy families in America would have a serious discussion with grandpa after that disaster. Saying they enthusiastically support him staying in the race tells America they aren’t a normal, healthy family that mirrors broader America.

Besides, do you think Eric and Ivanka should be counseling their elderly dad to drop out? Why are you only outrages that Biden's family isn't saying what you want them to say — and you're silent on the family of his fascist rival?

Yeah, no. Nobody thinks that train wreck of a family is anything normal or resembling the dynamics of a totally normal and healthy American family. That’s why people don’t expect it.
