I'm voting for Biden regardless but seeing Trump do his bullshit last night makes me not want to hear that shit again for 4+ more years. It was exhausting hearing all the media coverage on him daily. Even trying to tune it out you still hear it from people at work.

I turned it on just as he was going on about how "some states wants to legalize abortion post birth" and turned it back off. He's just telling blatant lies to rile up his base, facts don't matter. It's exhausting.

Actually most Republicans support abortion post birth and claim a Second Amendment right to carry the implements necessary for the procedure with them at all times.

Just look at infant mortality rates in Texas. After effectively banning abortion, it has risen 8%. In less than 2 years since Roe was overturned.

Yup. It used to be that is a fetus was unviable the parents would often elect to have an abortion. Now they can't make that choice and have to go through birth for a child that won't live very long.

I’m not anti abortion but this is the dumbest thing I have seen there is adoption, birth control, condoms and plan b you if the lack of abortion causes the death of babies they there is a way bigger problem that needs to be addressed people need to be responsible and take responsibility and stop playing the blame game

Lack of abortion does not cause the death of babies with congenital deformities etc., it just forces the mother to go through a traumatic pregnancy and birth of a child they then get to watch die, often in ways that also cause great suffering to the child for the short period of life it is subjected to. These children are generally loved and wanted, the choice of a termination is made to prevent suffering for both the child and mother.

Your suggestion that the parents of these children are somehow to blame for these situations is abhorrent. Do you think parents have a crystal ball that lets them know the child they conceive will have a terminal condition and they choose to go ahead regardless? Do you think it is somehow going to magically fix the child if the parents go through the birth and give it up for adoption instead of staying with their own child while it dies in their arms?

The only blame to be allocated here is towards the people who have chosen to force this pain and suffering onto both parents and babies by insisting children with no chance at a healthy life are forced to be born and live as long as possible with no regard for the suffering of everyone involved.

Ok well from the context I assumed it was do to unwanted or negligent parenting I also assumed that medically necessary abortions were still available from what I’ve heard on this topic like I said before I’m not anti abortion but I have see a number of people using abortions as birth control

That doesn't account for rape, non-viable pregnancies, pregnancies that will kill the mother, nor the fact that laws guaranteeing birth control access are being blocked by Republicans, interpretation of existing law with the Comstock Act is being debated in the ability to obtain birth control by mail, Republican have blocked a bill guaranteeing women's right to IVF.

And then there's a seriously lack of teaching of sex education across the nation that would, in effect, help lower unwanted pregnancies.

When you make it all about morals and personal responsibility, unwanted pregnancies go up which means abortions go up. When you give people easy access to birth control and the education on how to use it, unwanted pregnancies go down which means abortions go down.

Knowing this, you can either support ease of access and sex education and help reduce abortions or do everything possible to make it difficult and increase them.
