We can play this game all day, but when he wasn’t shown the door by the GOP after disparaging POWs, that was when it became clear that something was going terribly wrong.

No, stop. I see your point but it detracts from the reality being pointed out... the way he went after McCain should've been rephrensible to the whole GOP on principle alone.

And yet, somehow, it wasn't. It was like Trump just steamrolled right over his honorable service and mocked his years of captivity. He was unabashed and downright gleeful.

And Republicans lapped it up.
