The terms he was offered was no crowd and he's already demanding a crowd after accepting so that's definitely how this is going to go.

Yeah the "no crowd" and "mics off when other person is speaking" Id imagine are red lines for Biden's team.  The whole point of this is them trying to keep Trump from making it a spectacle.  Theres nothing Trump would love more than to yell over Biden while Maga fucks in a crowd egg him on and boo Biden, and I cant see Biden agreeing to that at all. I dont think either of these debates are going to happen.  Trump wants a crowd and a chance to yell over Biden, Biden and co want the opposite.  Trump in a quiet room yelling without any crowd feedback will make him look like an ass.

Yeah I just don't see him actually going through with this.

He wouldn't be able to contain himself and the video of him standing there shouting to be heard because his microphone was off would just look crazy.

If they actually went through with it I would bet he would get up and physically walk over to Joe Biden to shout into his microphone.

Oooh! Are they both gonna be in a Cone Of Silence so they can’t be heard at all when the mics are off? I’d even make it so they’re completely backlit when the other is talking so you can’t even see their facial expressions.

Let FOX produce it and make it all flashy and stuff so even people with short attention spans will stay engaged.

Is it too much to ask for a panel of judges consisting of all living Former Presidents and, like, Howie Mandel?

I dunno... it could be a smart move to allow an audience so Donny feels like he won something but still enforce the mic cuts. There would be cheering and booing for both sides, so while it would be better without that, I think having the debates would be better than not having them.

That was one of the Biden teams stipulations. I've seen that mentioned in what the Biden team wants from these so I presume they have been conveyed. If Trump has agreed to that specifically or that a news network has agreed to that, I'm not sure. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump agrees now and then tries to change it at the last minute. I still don't think these are going to happen, I can't imagine Trump would be ok with having his mic cut and no crowd of maga folk for him to stir up and boo Biden

Yep. Don't ever assume that right wingers are going to debate in good faith. This is all about the appearance of strength to them and Diaper Don can't win on the debate stage. His plan is already to make a bunch of power moves and demand concessions before simply not showing up.

Even if he agreed to it, I imagine the minute they cut Trump's mic, he'll walk around the podium and stand in front of Biden and try to talk directly to the camera. They need to be in different studios and do a remote debate just to control Trump's stupid ass.
