Last night’s debate just shows how bad our presidential candidates are now

Even as a conservative, I do NOT want Trump in office. Dude is old, an asshole and all he talks about is how great he is. And Biden is just sick. Dude is NOT mentally there.

Half the time he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and doesn’t remember where he is. And of course Trump tried to capitalize on that last night with a few comments.

Like why is our government still filled with so many old people. And if you think I’m just being a “right wing conservative, I hate some of the republicans too. Just look at Mitch McConnell. Dude basically had 2 strokes on camera!! Why is he still in office??

Like we have 120 million people in the US older than 35 years old. We can find TWO fucking people younger and better for the democrats and republicans? Like come on. We can’t find 100 people in the senate that aren’t old and senile??

right young people love to bitch on the internet but when it comes time to actually show up and vote they are a no show.

Candidates are chosen in primaries if young people vote they can change those primaries, andthen they can change the general election too.

Democrats refuse to vote for leftist politicians that are endorsed by young people and young leftists refuse to vote for democrats like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. If the Dems wanna play this game the young people will vote 3rd party until they get a candidate they support.

If democrats want to continue to run ineffective liberal candidates then they will continue to lose to the easiest opponents in American History. Democrats don’t show up to support leftist candidates so why should leftists show up to support the liberals that say we should hold our nose for their self admittedly terrible candidate?

Regardless of what you think nothing is going to happen because the young people don't vote. And that's what they need to change regardless of if they are going to try to influence better candidates or vote third party.

Well if young people showed up to vote in 2020 and Biden won then those same people vote 3rd party in 2024 will Joe Biden still win? I’m a young person (relatively). The only elections I have been eligible to vote in have been Trump V Clinton Trump V Biden and Trump V Biden. Voted 3rd party and Clinton lost. Voted Biden to “”save democracy”” and he won. What do you think will happen this next go around? I’m not holding my nose again.

Dems can run candidates I like or they can lose. I’m not budging on this anymore. Neoliberals are unelectable.

young people have not ever showed up to vote in my life time that's the point. And if they simply do that the whole political landscape changes rapidly and most of the thing these same young people whine about cease to be issues, for them anyway.

As for voting for biden he's the best option and many things he has done are good, very good. Like for instance his SAVE plan for student loans.

When young people show up to vote the boomer dems vote against them for the conservative. That’s why Biden beat Sanders. Young people like Bernie cause he’s the only elected official that cares to represent them.

Sorry I don’t want to vote for the guy that brags on a debate stage about ‘beating’ medicare and his 6 handicap from a decade ago.

Young people don’t have a chance in the primaries because their interests don’t, at all, align with the NIMBY boomers that are protecting their liberal wealth

If it has never happened, ever, in American history, then you can probably stop holding your breath that this will be the year. Young voter turnout is historically low so politicians need to do more to motivate that demographic. Maybe having public policy to help young people would be a good start.

Would young voter turnout be higher if there was a 35 yo candidate and not two geriatrics arguing over golf handicaps?
