Imagine people thinking that “sitting this one out” is actually ok and not a big deal? What universe are these people living in?

Honestly, people who think they should sit out because they don't have a good grasp of the situation are far less harmful than the people who feel they have to get involved despite not really following politics or understanding what's going on. 

Democracy can survive the former, I'm not so sure about the latter.
