It is odd how most of the titles are in English words, but the Rani is from the Hindi word for Queen (And don't tell me it's because of their Queen, plenty of characters had that title in British TV). I keep forgetting if the actress who played her originally had Indian origins or not, or spoke Hindi.

And I, for one would like to see more Time Lords who use titles from other cultures and not just English. Also, would be kind of funny if one day there's an one that takes the accent and form of an Australian, and calls themselves The Bogan or something.

To be fair, the Rani isn't the only one with a non-English title. The Conquistador has a Spanish title ("conquistador" is Spanish for "conqueror") and the Sagi Shi has a Japanese title ("詐欺師 / sagi shi" means "conman" or "crook").

Both the Conquistador and the Sagi Shi are mentioned in this episode.
