I pretty much never used it for gaming and only used it for “xbox on”, “xbox off”, and “xbox volume up/down”. For those commands alone though I loved it and glad I had it. I miss being able to do that. Obviously way overkill for just that though, I wish there was a cheap microphone I could plug in to do those commands on my series x.

Xbox needs to do what Playstation does and put a speaker/mic into the controller.

Yuck. Why?

Because you can do commands like this easy

Commands like what? None of what was mentioned is easier than holding the Xbox button down on the controller.

Or voice typing on apps, some games like battlefield had voice tie ins, also it’s not a bad mic, it’s handy if your headset breaks

Of all the things, you chose one thing that people mocked the Kinect for, and the other thing that was entirely replaced by smart phones (casting)

It’s literally a second feature with no downsides, I don’t see what the problem is

Downside is shitty battery with a higher controller price.

Over here it’s the same price for both controllers, and the Xbox controller doesn’t have a rechargeable battery. Also you can just like, turn the mic off

It's way more convenient for being in a party. Voice commands. And you can mute it whenever you want it doesn't have to always be on. I hate wearing headsets so the mic in the controller is perfect.

It always makes you sound like crap and forces you to turn your game volume right down if you want to hear anyone. So no.

Voice commands.

Never a good thing. It's why no one actually uses Siri/Google Now or Windows Co-Pilot on their phones or tablets.

And you can mute it whenever you want it doesn't have to always be on.

Yeah, muted permanently so that the extra hardware becomes a wasted expense on the controller lol

hate wearing headsets so the mic in the controller is perfect.

So wear earphones then 🤦‍♂️ there's a socket on the controller for any 3.5m earphones, and your friends will hear you better than any controller mic ever would.

People asking for more microphones in their controllers and downvotimg someone who actually gives a fuck about their privacy.

Classic Reddit.

Also let's be real, Microsoft not going to be improving on anything. The company's consoles are losing out to Sony by a factor of 5. Apparently it's selling worse than the Wii U and Xbox one (relative to release and competition OFC).

At this point I'll be surprised if they have any new ideas in stock other than another mediocre halo release or some shit exclusive they peddle out like crackdown 3.
