MS taking feedback from those who they consider peons? LOL That will never happen. As we continue to see with how amazing the Xbox brand is doing, MS knows best.

Or if they just sold this separately and focused on uses for it beyond video games.

It's easy to see their missteps though. The late 2000s were filled with gaming going "mainstream" between the Wii's motion controls, the popularity of Guitar Hero, phone touch screens opening up a whole new world of interactivity largely dethatched from the button-pressing experiences of the past. Xbox had to get in on the trend, so they went big on something that wouldn't really take off until several years later: voice-activated devices.

Granted, in doing so, they definitely forgot their gaming roots and the Xbox One's unveiling ended up being possibly the biggest blunder in the brand's history. But I can see why they took the missteps they ended up taking.

And a lot was somewhat over idealized. Most people who bought a Wii, for example, didn't buy a single other game, it was just used as a Wii Sports machine. They saw it as a 'party' or social toy within that bubble, it didn't convert them into regular gaming.

Kinect Adventures had some fun elements, but it wasn't as appealing or accessible as Wii Sports. They may have tried to directly emulate that via other titles, but those weren't the titles included with the Kinect/360, and also involved multiple titles, not one.

So you could essentially get the Wii as an all-in one-time purchase and get what you needed, or have 360 where you needed to either get the Kinect bundle or buy it as an add-on, and then buy the games that had the Wii Sports esque gameplay. Easier to just buy a Wii and have the thing you'd played before already and knew you liked.
