As coming in 2022, one year after a Oblivion remaster.

Those were Bethesda's plans pre-acquisition. Things have changed wildly so perhaps they scrapped the idea.

I feel like that was a big nothingburger, didnt the fps and resolution boosts for those two games on xbox drop at the same time as was stated in the leaks? Gaming websites just picked them up years later for easy clicks and site traffic and stirred up rumors

I get the feeling that the reason games are taking so long to release, is because of the sheer amount of waste in software.

A Fallout remaster and Oblivion Remaster being canned would probably explain why we've had bugger all in those IPs and why we're waiting decades now for mainline releases.

You didn’t make a mistake, don’t worry. With mods the PC version is unmatched, and even if they did release a remaster it would probably just be trying to catch up to your PC version

Is it easy to apply the mods on the steam deck?

That's what I bought it for. I haven't started it yet.

(I played it on 360 years ago, just rebought on sale for the deck)

I think I just got a great mod list for Fallout 3 on the deck set up today. Diving in tomorrow, I used mod organizer 2 and if I can set it up on the deck anyone can.

There are plenty of guides out there to help. The file system is different because Linux but it’s not too difficult to learn.

It runs fantastic out of the box on Steam Deck too.

It’s okay, a Bethesda remaster won’t even compare to the mods you can install for Fallout 3 on PC.

It’s an old document and no guarantee it’s still in the plans. The document was from 2020 and there’s been no word from Bethesda. I’d say it got canned.

They haven't gotten around to revealing the Oblivion remaster yet, and 3 was planned to come out after.

Unless it's a XIII situation, they're not going to cancel a remaster for a Fallout game after the TV show exploded.

It was probably cancelled before the show blew up. We’re four years on from the date of that document now and not a word about either project.

Yeah but you get mods and you can probably finish the game like 10 times before a Fallout 3 remaster is even announced

Except those documents said it was planned for a few years ago

So whether it is still happening is unknown, all we know is they had plans for a 2022 remake at some point
