This generation has been underwhelming Discussion

I bought a Series X at launch, and can’t think of a single game that has impressed me this gen. I’m a big Halo fan, and Halo Infinite felt like a letdown. I’m a Forza fan, and Forza Motorsport felt like a massive disappointment. I was exited for Starfield, but was underwhelmed after playing it.

It just feels like we’ve had no heavy hitters this gen, even 3rd party AAA games have been average at best. I guess the only hope I have left is with Gears 6, but aside from that, Microsoft needs to get their act together and start releasing some new games. It feels like games are taking way too long to make these days, we used to get bangers every year in the 360 gen. Even the Xbox One had more compelling games than what we have now

Yeah I have a series x and a ps5 and besides the game resume feature the ps5 is so much more impressive. The controller is miles ahead . I felt really bad for the people that had so much hope for starfield . I also put the ps plus over games pass in terms of what games are available . That being said - the game resume feature is an absolute game changer and I think the series S is a great machine and a more affordable way to get into the next gen .

Controller is subjective, but what about the system itself makes the PS5 “so much more impressive” than the Series X?

I have both, and I definitely don’t agree. PS5 has definitely had more exclusives I’ve been interested in this gen, but the system itself doesn’t feel any more impressive at all.

Reading back , “so much more impressive” is unfair . To be clear I love my series X and S . I’ve been a gamer all my life and I’m 40 now . I’ve spent the last year replaying retro games on a lightning modz V2 . It’s a small company but their system is phenomenal. Whenever I play ps5 or series X after it’s astounding how far consoles have come along . I still remember seeing Doom and Mario 64 for the first time and being blown away.

I’m a gamer and have no idea what it’s like to make games or a console . The series x is a phenomenal piece of kit . I use a series S for racing games with a wheel but use my series x on a big tv for games like resident evil 4 , that last Jedi game etc . Whenever I have played the same game on a ps5 I’ve never noticed a difference so ultimately for me it comes down to the exclusives .

I know a lot of gamers are annoyed that these days so many remasters come out and feel like they deserve more new games to play . I’ve literally just been playing the Last of Us with the pulse headphones and it’s an incredible experience . If the same game comes out on both systems i normally go for the ps5 option as I feel the controller is more immersive .

Overall i don’t notice any differences between the two in terms of graphics . I’m hoping the new Indiana jones game is going to be great . Think that’s an Xbox exclusive but I’m not sure .

I’m a dad so don’t get much time to play anymore .
