Back Patch Material

Howdy folks, I'm an assistant prop master for on a short film whose story centers on a fictional MC, much like SoA. I am currently doing research on materials for the patches, and was hoping y'll might be able to help me out. As far as I can tell these are all pictures of authentic patches from the show itself (aside from the Boozefighter's patches) and I'm trying to determine what the white, ripply, semi reflective material is that they used for the background of the rockers. It gives a unique grungy patina that we are hoping to replicate. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Hot take: Grim Bastards are 10x cooler and more interesting than the mayans and should have gotten more air time in soa and their own show

Seriously though would love to see how the relationship between them and the sons formed and was so tight for two decades, feel like there’s so much cool history we could get, mayans kinda fell flat on every level for me but I haven’t watched since the first season so maybe it’s got better idk

revenge for opie

I finished the series three years ago, but there's something that's been bothering me. This question has been on my mind for a long time, but it came back to me after watching a clip from the show. Pope gives Jax the address of the guard's house, and Jax and the crew brutally kill the guard's wife and severely injure the guard. Now, the question I want to ask is: wasn't the order to kill one of the crew members already given by Pope? Yes, of course, the guard would be killed too, but think about the difference between the way a guard and Pope died. They just shot Pope in the head, and it didn't satisfy me. I think their deaths should have been reversed. What do you think?

Jax’s Guilt

I’m re-watching for at least the fourth time with my GF who hasn’t ever seen the show. Obviously I picked up on it originally but I’m really seeing the battle between the guy Jax wants to be and the life that he has to live.

When Venus’ mom goes on the rant about her son growing up to hate her for who she is and Jax shoots her, you can really see the hurt in his face. Just a testament to Kurt Sutter’s writing and Charlie Hunnam’s depth.

Two random thoughts about Jax’s end * spoilers

Ok so 1. Why was he smiling going into that semi? Im sure he felt good about loose ends tying up, but like,,,,, you’re about to die. Leaving behind 2 children. After murdering so many people you couldn’t look yourself in the mirror anymore. lol.

  1. Tara just wouldn’t have wanted her boys to grow up orphans. She would’ve wanted Jax / and or Wendy to take the boys away from charming. When she died, he should’ve carried out that wish if he ever loved her or his children.

Like the whole thing just still boggles my mind it sucks he’s so sexy bc his decisions make me wanna hate him/ the show lol.

Rewatching the series and am just astonished how much of a bi*ch she is! I’d forgotten just how devious and hateful she really is! Anyhow, love this series and am enjoying the rewatch!

Did the series go on longer then it should've?

I feel it went on 2 seasons to long. Dragging stuff out.

Seasons 1-5 I feel were good to great. The rest ahhh

Do you think Jax loved Tara more than he loved his children?

Interested to hear everyone's take on this. I know there's a lot of opinions regarding their relationship, but I'm curious to see how people view Jax's parental love vs Tara's parental love.

I see Tara as loving Jax so deeply but forcing herself to put her children first, whereas when push came to shove, Jax chose Tara over the club. He does tell Tara to save their boys, but to me that came off almost secondary to not wanting to lose Tara? Seeing how terrified she was of him seemed to be what pulled the wool from his eyes rather than the very real danger his kids were in.

What do you think? Obviously they were doomed from the start, but they definitely loved each other incredibly much.

Edited to add sentence.

I just rode into season4. I think Jax is too personal. Other gang members who did skmething wrong and needed to be sent away are treated with some degree of respect. And Jax spit in clays face. I know he is awful but jax is too personal.

Can anyone tell me what bike miles has in the series? I know we don’t see much of it from what I remember, it’s been awhile since I’ve watched the show and was wondering if anyone could tell me

What was the beef between SAMCRO and the Hales?

Or was it never explained, just standard dislike for the MC.

We know that David Hale hated them in the beginning, and Jacob Hale is trying to shut them down in S03. Unser says to Tig and Piney that the Hale family have been trying to shut them down for decades. Was any detail ever given?

I just finished my first watch through and these are my thoughts: AMA 🤣

Jax is trash, Gemma, Tara, Clay are all trash also. I felt bad for: Bobby, Juice, Uncer, Hale, Black Hale (Eli), Otto, Luanne, Filthy Phil. I could care less about: Opie or any of his family except Piney. My favorite people in this show were Nero, Chucky, Happy, Chibs and the most improved character through the whole show was Tig.
