Love that they're making eve's dad a dick like the comics.

He's slightly more sympathetic here, but he's very much true to the comic version of the character

Yeah, he still seems controlling and misogynistic, but the voice actor also adds a healthy amount of love and care to his arguments. He is still a jerk but at least they portray him as a concerned father. Remember that their original baby died, but then they told them it reanimated however it was a baby swapping situation.

Yeah, the VA is doing an incredible job. He still comes off as a dick at first, but underneath it all is a terrified father who cares more about his daughter being safe than the world.

I think it's a misdirect, though. He says the worst day of his life is when Eve got her powers, but didn't her parents explicitly have her experimented on so she would get powers? Seems more like her dad is upset that he can't control her anymore.

No, her parents weren’t involved with her getting powers; they were just given a baby pretty much after they thought it was dead? I think? Maybe??

Oh, you're right. She was swapped at birth with a dead baby, since she killed her own mother in childbirth with her out of control powers. I could've sworn she was the result of some kind of a government program, though, hence the mental blocks that prevent her from manipulating living matter.

I kinda forgot already, but It just sorta got back to me. She was swapped with a dead baby. Her birth mother was part of an experiment, the scientist in charge had a guilty conscience and also declared her dead, then just gave her to that couple who lost their baby. I also kinda remember the organization who was behind her experimentation was disbanded, but I don’t remember if she ever found out the truth.
