“You all” = “Y’all”. By your logic, you should not use “don’t” because it is short for “Do not”. Notice how I did not use any shortened phrases? Writing like this can become very tiring.

That's not what the word means.

Yanks are specifically northern USA citizens.

If you called someone in the South a Yank they'd punch you.

Do note I'm also not from the US but Canada and we also say "ya'll" here all the time.

Outside of the US it has evolved to include all Americans, and in the US it refers only to a specific group.
