Maybe it was just to show he’s out of breath or that possibly Darkblooe was nearby, just seems a bit odd or I’m an idiot

I haven't read the comics so I don't know if they reveal this but my guess would be Damien Darkblood seeing what happened? People died so maybe hell opened up and he got a peek? That's all I can think of because anytime Darkblood's around, the room gets colder.
