Why Was This One Breath From Nolan Cold? DISCUSSION

Post image

Maybe it was just to show he’s out of breath or that possibly Darkblooe was nearby, just seems a bit odd or I’m an idiot

lots of “logical” explanations here but i’m convinced it’s just a stylistic choice to emphasize that omni-man exerted a lot of energy. other animated tv shows in invincible’s style do this all the time.

Yeah. Considering up until this point, omni-man has been the perfect hero. So seeing him a really take damage from a few super powered humans is an actual godly feat. Considering he's been doing this for hundreds of years and has more combat experience than all of them combined, even the immortal.

I think he likely let them get a few hits on him to match his cover story

Possible yeah. Though it definitely seems like he underestimated them.

Not really underestimated I think he knew it wasn't gonna be easy that's why he suprised them.

Nah he didn't underestimate them in the slightest. He starts by trying to surprise attack the Immortal by taking off his head because he knew the immortal would be the biggest threat. The only reason that fight lasted as long as it did was because red rush stopped Nolan from one shotting the immortal

So he underestimated Red Rush is what you just said

I mean maybe he underestimated his speed but I feel like it's a stretch to say he underestimated the guardians when it's literally just red rush

I’d argue he’s a key part of the team and underestimating one part of the team means underestimating the whole.

It was lucky for Omni man that RR also underestimated him and got caught.

To be fair there's a difference between underestimating a foe and a real fight. He likely still would have won had he underestimated them, but if he had done so they likely would have been able to get a message out.

Nolan didn't need to kill the Guardians - he wanted his plan to play out at his pace, on his terms. If he underestimated anything, it was his own family.

No it was because red rush was saving multiple people, the heroes start getting picked off starting with him, even if he hadn't saved Immortal, if Red Rush had just stuck to defending and keeping people out of the danger zone, Nolan would've died

Disagree. He knew he’d take some damage going up against a team that includes Immortal and War Woman or whatever her name was. He also knew that if he survived the fight (which he knew he would), regardless of how much damage he took, he’d make a full recovery as any Viltrumite would. Plus as we’ve already established the damage he took helped buy him time with his cover story.

Idk, it very much seemed like he was trying to kill them all as fast as possible.
