Ok but why adding "the alien" into the name when like half of the characters are aliens? DISCUSSION

Invincible fans still discovering that the comics/show is an elaborate deconstruction of the entire superhero genre and pretty much everything in it are subtle jabs to established conventions from the genre.

It's a writer's joke, simple as.

Invincible is the first superhero show I watched, I had no idea it's a deconstruction of the genre. Could you elaborate?

I mean, It's a bit hard to explain it to you if you never seen any other superhero media.

An example that comes to mind though is the viltrumites and Omni-man. They are like Kryptonians and Superman, almost to a T. However, the "Superman" from Invincible is aware of his heritage and joins in on the evil deeds of his race, that, unlike Kryptonians, are mostly bad guys. It pretty much was a subversion of expectations that also stepped away far from the conventions.
