It's everything Amber's dreaded about their relationship all happening in an instant. Every moment of comfort and normalcy can be undercut by outside forces neither of them can control deciding to break in. Amber herself is an active liability to Mark's life now, the bad guys know they can get to Mark through her. And then Mark almost had another Chicago-level event, nearly died fighting someone he couldn't just brute force his way through. But she's also right, that doesn't mean her life and her problems don't also matter, to say they don't is how the Viltrumites do things.

I hope they really get into Mark's severe procrastination/denial of the Villtrumite threat to Earth, cuz it was WILD to me that he came home and acted like it didn't exist
