Everything about that scene suggested Rex was going to be saved by some outside force. Such a good bait and switch.

I was betting on Donald showing up embracing his android strength.

I hope he stops moping and goes beast mode soon. Perhaps even on Cecil

Fr lol I read the comic and I was still shocked that he just gets back up and beats the shit out of that guy himself. Probably the most badass thing we've seen yet

I was fucking SHOCKED. I kinda wish they had done that though, just because of the insane subversion of expectations. Would really make it feel like anything can happen and plot armor is non existent.

It's almost cliche to have the hero about to die and they leave it as a cliff hanger. No time throughout the week did I think "He's gonna shoot Rex." I thought just like you said, some outside force would come in and save him. That gunshot was probably one of the most surprising things I've seen in TV since the red wedding or Jon's death.

It also would have been a good time to say goodbye to him considering he did such a redemption move with Eve, getting her out of her funk and being really good to her.

Cecil's troops really could have done with showing up sooner lol. Or maybe backing up the remaining 3 guardians from the start

Yeah, exactly what I love this show for

As is typical, reinforcements which could have easily saved him show up only moments after he finished the fight.

I actually laughed when those guys with guns showed up, like where the fuck were they 5 minutes ago? That would have been a useful time to show.
