I enjoyed this episode, but the dialogue wasn't that good. The thing with Omnipotus, Rex hinting at the second catastrophe and the scene at the end with Allen. Why does ripping off his beard mean he's a Viltrumite? Did I forget something they mentioned in the third episode?

Totally disagree, I thought the dialogue was great this episode with Rex as a stand out. Amber’s pushing down of her emotions while talking to mark, Cecil and Donald, Mark standing up to Cecil… I thought it was all so great honestly

That are all great moments and great dialogue. That is the reason I have not criticised them either. I critice the mentioned three.

To me, omnipotus was a gag with Immortals “no”, fair if you didn’t like it but I chuckled. The Thaddeus viltrumite thing to be fair is also not that well explained in the comics but it’s a cultural thing as the other person said, but honestly I think you’re supposed to see the mustache and be like “ahhh a vilturmite.” I don’t think three instances makes not great dialogue tho, esp when the rest of the episode was so strong

Its not super clear in the show but the omni man mustache is a viltrumite thing, like a lot of them have it so it’s generally a symbol of being a viltrumite, or at least its typical. It is also just meant to be a visual gag

The Toolook pull is a thing Viltrumites do 🤷‍♂️

the beard pull demonstrates a level of power, control, and resistance to pain that only a viltrumite could possess, while also revealing the trademark viltrumite mustache. think about how strong and durable you would have to be to grip and rip every single hair out of your face in one motion without flinching

The ripping of the beard is the sacred Toolock Pull.

No the beard is real and the Toolook pull is quite painful for them to perform. Viltrumites don’t grow beards by tradition, not biological limitations.

Yeah, I was wrong, them only growing mustaches is a cultural thing and not a biological constraint. It's been some time since I read the comics, I just have vague memories of Kirkman talking about the mustaches, and how lady Viltrumites can't grow them but have their own version of that downstairs.
