For real though, anyone thinking Home lander had even 1% chance was delusional.

If anything this episode shows that the real reason Omniman stomps Homelander every time is about mentality.

Even if they somehow were perfectly equal in power, Homelander is a manchild who's never had to fight a "real" fight in his whole life. He's used to tearing his way through "normal" people like terrorists as if they were tissue paper and that's really it. Even the other supers he fights he ends in one or two hits with just as much ease. The few fights he's had against supers who actually gave him any amount of difficulty (note - am a show watcher, haven't read the comics plz no spoils) Homelander just ran away from and then had a mental crisis about "but how can anyone be as strong as me" later.

Nolan literally grew up in a society that necessitated being able to clobber the shit out of at least equally-matched if not outright stronger opponents. Overcoming stronger opponents is the norm in his life and he has the mentality and tactics to fight on the rare occasion he finds himself on an uneven playing field (like we saw today in a 3v2 while also having to pick up the slack of his weaker ally).

Basically, (again, even giving the hypothetical of them somehow being perfectly equal in power) Homelander vs Omniman would come down to the first punch being thrown. Homelander would realize it wasn't an easy win and then he'd run crying while Omniman laughed at him while chasing him down. They'd eventually exchange some blows while Omniman dodged or deflected everything like a pro boxer facing a street thug before Omniman eventually just decides he's bored and then uses his superior fighting technique to just deal some kind of finishing blow.

Great post. If you read the comic, all is answered.
