That's because Omni-Man spent most of Season 1 as a good father/loving husband. Whereas Ross spends 10 seasons as an insecure, clingy asshole with anger issues. /jk(?)

I like how the fact that Ross was a father himself wasn’t brought up, which goes to show how bad of a dad he in fact was.

Genuinely forgot. Yeah...not the greatest parent. Or husband, for that matter. Granted, his first divorce wasn't his fault, but the others were definitely fair game.

Also he had a lot of weird hang-ups about masculinity that bled into his parenting. Like when ben was playing with a barbie doll and ross tried to force him to play with a GI Joe or a dinosaur instead. And that was the entire b plot of an episode.
