I don't think you can just add up your clones lives and say that equals immortal's age lol. Don't think it works quite like that Kate lol.

It's seems Kate is gonna take Amber's place as the illogical moron of the show

I mean, she gave the actual justification moments later. I wouldn't be too harsh on her.

I was gonna say. The one thing out of five or however many was wrong. Everything else was what people in the discussion last week were bringing up. I think we’re exaggerating here.

I'm not being harsh on her I'm saying the writer's don't know how to write women

Amber had one scene that made everyone go all “Amber’s the worst” and it was the reaction at the college.

Almost as if a teenager could have a moment of being illogical and emotional. Wild stuff.

When I was 17 I left my gf for absolutely no reason and did not know how to break it to her. So I just said nothing and pretty much ghosted her.

Did she find out?

Yeah well we talked a little while later and we told our goodbyes. I had fhe emotionally maturity of a toddler.

Thank you! The Amber discourse is wild. “Teenager reacts badly to being lied to” is somehow a reflection that she’s a bad person and her character is bad.

The writers didn’t think she reacted badly, they made it all out to be mark’s fault. Amber deadass manipulated him by calling him a coward for “running away” when she KNEW he literally saved them.

In what way do you feel like the writers were picking sides?

She's a teenager. Teenagers are not founts of knowledge or maturity. She reacted poorly to being lied to. She doesn't understand what his life as a superhero consists of - that world is entirely unfathomable to her. She does what a normal teenager would do - challenge his lies or omissions to see when he will come clean with her.

We understand his saving lives is far more important than her. But her response as a teenager to being lied to is fully in character. It may seem unreasonable to a viewer, but it's not an unreasonable choice for that character.

Literally every character said Mark screwed up by not telling her, Atom Eve (the one who told Mark to keep it secret in the first place), and his best friend William. Mark barely dated Amber for that long iirc. And seriously I believe most teens would understand why Mark would try to keep something like that secret, you’re not giving them enough credit. That was just a bad out of character decision that made Amber seem unbearable.

what a stupid ass argument, when Amber got mad because Mark didn't tell her he was invincible the show was not potraying her as being illogical, they were trying to make us think that she was right, which is absolute bullshit

Amanda, Eve, and Debbie are all pretty great. Jury's out on Kate and Amber, but the former hasn't really been in it much yet and the later seems to be more nuanced this season.

Amber's outburst in S1 was a one-off and kind of out of character. Season 2 has been driving the point home that Amber is not defined by that singular event.
