It’s funny that people are calling this a filler episode when they used it to set up so many future events.

They set up: * Mark’s weakness to sonic blasts with the Atlantis monster * Eve’s return to superhero work with the playground collapse * Doc Seismic’s control of the earth monsters * Night Boy, which leads to the fight between Cecil and Mark * Rise of Lizard League and the Sequids * Angstrom visiting the other Invincibles

The first two points weren’t even in the comics. Cecil just kinda had a lucky guess that the sonic weapon would work and Eve just went back to superheroics to help Mark IIRC. I like this better, though I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get Mark in the fish costume.

People call anything that doesn't "move the plot forward" a filler episode lol.

Which is ironic because this episode definitely moved the plot quite a bit especially considering what will happen next episode.

It's really funny seeing people acting like they already know the plot and make really dumb takes. Like how people complained how the show is "chasing the multiverse" trend when it already happened years before the trend blew up in movies and shows or in this case people acting like this episode is just filler like a weekly shounen anime.

The comics made fun of the multiverse trend when marvel/dc did it back in the day, now the show gets to to do its own version or dunking on mainstream comic movies again.
