i love love LOVE that they’re giving more depth to the women in this story. eve and amber were both pretty shallow in the comics. until the fight with the viltrumites and eve’s first death she didn’t have a ton of personality, imo. i’m glad robert kirkman is making a concerted effort to give all the characters more development, but especially the women.

i can say the same about the pacing and changing around certain storylines! i see some people don’t like the added emphasis to the lizard league, but honestly, their role in the comics felt pretty goddamn random and they need to be framed as a bigger and more consistent threat.

I agree with all of this except for Eve being Shallow in the comics.

Eve imo was never shallow.

I'd agree. It's been a while since I did a full reread of the comic, but I remember that right away, Eve's shown to be pretty competent and capable. She teaches Mark some stuff about superheroing and kind of shows him the ropes with the teen team, the Rex stuff is bit cliché but it's good writing for a teenager superhero and the Mark love triangle is a bit too but I'm a sucker for those old superhero dynamics.

I would agree that she does become a bit more of a character after the conquest stuff, and the bit where she confronts Angstrom the second time might be my favourite Invincible moment. Just the way Eve utterly demolishes his vendetta without violence or force but just with words is something you'd never expect in superhero (cough cough, big two) comics.
