Recommemdations?

I'm quite new into graphic novels and I don't know what everyone calls good or not, I've read the boys ( I enjoyed it) and currently reading preacher, I've also started the millerworld collection ( nemesis, kickass and wanted) but would like to know what everyone would recommend. Thanks Edit: if you could share links to buy comics/graphic novels I'd highly appreciate it, I only use Amazon or I have to go to London which is quite far.

Discussion Are the original 4 issues of Nemesis still canon

I've just finished reading Nemesis and started reading Nemesis: Reloaded and I just don't understand how he's still alive and if the original 4 issues are still canon and he states that everything we've heard before is a lie would that mean that it's a Jupiters legacy kind of situation that it's a fake world in the Millarworld I simply just don't understand.

Discussion Rook: Exodus #3

Out of the three current Ghost Machine titles this one is my favourite. Some nice world building and great character designs. This issue really opens up the world showing us a lot more Wardens (if only for a panel each) and the possibilities of potential stories on Exodus. Fabokā€™s art makes this a gorgeous book to look at and Iā€™m excited for the battle between the six wardens next issue.

Review Void Rivals #10 Review: Universal Truths (10/10)

GONKBONK REVIEWS: VOID RIVALS #10

After a yearā€™s worth of solid releases, Skyboundā€™s Energon Universe has been on an incredible run. Itā€™s always great to catch up on Void Rivals, the series that kickstarted the whole initiative. With issue #10 comes big revelations that strengthen the universeā€™s connections more than ever.

Read the full version of this review here.

Review:

Getting to see a Transformer in action in Lorenzo De Feliciā€™s fantastic art style already makes the price of the comic more than worth it already. But the flashy and fast-paced action is only the tip of the iceberg. The issue delivers plenty of great interactions between Darak, Solila, and Springer, making me very happy with the dynamic the fan-favorite Autobot brings to the table.

After a year of great storytelling across different comics, itā€™s fun to see the development of the Energon Universe paying off in spades. The shared universe feels as robust as ever with all the connections sprouting across the comics. In a way, these deeper connections add a layer of unpredictability because so many possibilities now feel like they can happen. It leaves a die-hard fan like myself extremely excited for whatā€™s to come down the line. Robert Kirkman and Skybound are cooking up something fierce with the Energon Universe, and this issue adds another crucial piece to the big picture they are putting together.

Why You Should Read Void Rivals

  • Void Rivals feels like the series that ties the whole Energon Universe together.
  • Itā€™s great seeing Transformers action done in Lorenzo De Felici's fantastic art style.
  • The character dynamics between Darak, Solila, and now Springer, is always a ton of fun.

Never been a huge G.I Joe fan but I have always thought that Scarlett was always underused and under appreciated. She doesnā€™t show up nearly enough in the comics anymore. Energon universe has been good so far. Hoping to see more of her there at the least

Review Self Help #1 Review: Looks Can Be Deceiving (9/10)

GONKBONK REVIEWS: SELF HELP #1

While California noir is not a genre I typically explore, Iā€™m a sucker for character-driven comics that mix a bit of crime with comedy. After diving into Self Help #1, I can safely say that the charming new series delivered much more than I expected.

Read the full version of this review here.

Review:

Self Helpā€™s solicitation labels the comic series as a ā€œCalifornia noirā€, hinting at a unique and pulpy drama set in the sunny streets of Los Angeles. But if you were to come into the comic completely blind, you wouldnā€™t immediately think its story develops into a crime drama from its mundane yet charming intro. Instead of jumping straight into the crime shenanigans, most of the first issue focuses on introducing readers to the main charactersā€™ quirks through snippets of their daily lives. Only at the end of the comic does it show what the characters are like when push comes to shove, which leads to the storyā€™s big twist.

With Self Help being such a character-driven story, the art team does a fantastic job bringing the characters and setting to life. With unique colors setting the sceneā€™s mood and loud fonts accentuating characters' stage presence, the art team doing what they do best to deliver a great character-defining moment.

After its solid first issue, the comic has the potential to be a sleeper hit from Image Comics this year. If you're looking for a refreshing change of pace from the usual comic book fare, Self Help offers plenty of fun when you dive into it.

Image: Syzygy Publishing/Image Comics

Why You Should Read Self Help:

  • The comic delivers a promising start to what could be a sleeper hit from Image Comics and Syzygy Publishing.
  • This first issue sets up its intriguing premise by introducing the peculiar lives of the main characters.
  • The art is fun, vibrant, and poppy, perfect for the storyā€™s California setting.
