My Boyfriend bet me $500 that I couldn’t beat Elden ring in 6 months with little to no video game experience. Humor

The rules of the bet:

  1. No magic
  2. Only Melee
  3. No farming for runes
  4. Have to beat the entire game by June, 6th, 2024

I am currently on the last boss of the game with 89 hours played. I hope the last boss doesn’t take me 5 months. 😂

I'm ngl if I had to play ER for the first time without google it would've been 10x harder haha. Even 3 runs later I still have to use google

you have to use google to avoiding missing stuff, not to beat the game at all (I assume)

You definitely don't need it to beat the game but it really does help a lot. Boss strategies, BIS for different builds, weaknesses to take advantage of, locations of little-known equipment that make life easier.

You gotta be more specific, otherwise people are just gonna use another search engine or an LLM or youtube to help them with fights lol.

Kleenex is a brand, but it colloquially means facial tissue. Google is a company, but it colloquially means looking something up. If you can't expect good faith from someone don't make a $500 bet with them.

Yeah the no farming specifically feels like it wouldn't be too difficult to abuse. Just by exploring and doing plenty of side content you'll easily find yourself a bit overleved for different areas/bosses.

There are plenty of people that will do "farm runs" to level up as quickly as possible, I'm assuming the rule just means none of that rather than no exploring.
