[Marks] There is no market for Zach Lavine. They are trying to give him away and attach a first round pick. I’ve been told that by multiple, multiple people. Highlights

It was so funny last year when Bulls fans were intent on a Lavine trade with the Pistons, and the common wisdom was that a first-rounder AND Ivey would be "enough". Absolutely delusional.

Lmao I remember posts on their sub saying Bojan, Ivey and a pick would get it done.

If Chicago is actually going to blow it up, there's no way they'd attach an unprotected first with LaVine. If they're planning on trying to compete, just without LaVine, I'd be interested because I think their roster construction sucks and the pick would probably be mid 1st at worst.
But $43m over 3 years with a 15% trade kicker is absolutely brutal business, and it would bite us badly if Chicago somehow ended up better than expected. I don't think it's really worth the risk.

If they don’t offer that pick then no one is going to touch him. He is an albatross for 3 yrs.

His knees are shot. That is why no one wants him and that big contract. He cannot stay on the the floor.

I honestly think we should do it for him and a first. I think it’s the kind of shake up Detroit needs. We are not contenders for a few years and by then he will have taken pressure off Cade and gives us a chance at play-in possibilities in the next 2-3 years. I think he gives the young guys more of a taste for winning too, which they desperately need. Plus he will be more valuable then, or at least less of an albatross for us. If we don’t, we are still short some difference makers. I see little downside to this.

If true, I want very light protections if I’m eating ZL’s contract. He’s already a borderline distressed asset. If his efficiency and athleticism decline further, he’ll be viewed as an unmovable negative asset.

Dude's a modular home. It'd take so, so many attachments just to make it livable 🤣
