Is there any way to save an image from a comment on Reddits stupid ass mobile app without just straight up screenshotting?

Tap it, hit the three dots at the top, download it.

u/Veggiemon 5d ago
That works for a post (but puts a fucking Reddit ad with the subreddit) but the three dots aren’t there if you just click an image from a comment

u/anarchetype 5d ago
It works for me... sometimes. I have no idea why I can tap some comment images to download in the Reddit app and not others as I've found no rhyme or reason to it all.
Shit, yesterday I kept hitting the download button on one, it kept saying "image downloaded" or whatever, and yet there was no new image downloaded to my phone. This app is kinda booboo.

BRO .
I actually got flamed hard as hell at work once cause I pushed someone away when they came in for a hug. My boss was nearby and called me the most antisocial fuck he'd ever met. There were other reasons for that too but still....
Not everyone can get that close to me and I keep that group limited.

u/RedDidItAndYouKnowIt 5d ago
Bodily autonomy bro. If someone doesn't get consent before attempting an embrace, hell even a handshake, then they are just violating you.
28
u/meownfloof 5d ago
I’m a big hugger. I love everyone! Turns out not everyone is like me. Now that I’ve realized that, if it’s someone I’m not familiar with I ask first. Can I give you a hug? 🤗 sometimes it’s no and I’m like “Fistbump?” “Sure!” “Hell yeah!” Let’s connect in a way that’s comfortable for both of us
4
u/Elektraheartxo 5d ago
Exactly! As a non-hugger, it’s wonderful when someone asks first. It lets me know the person cares about autonomy and causes me to be more trusting of them in general. It’s a win/win

u/AnnabellaPies ☑️ 5d ago
February 2020 I refused each hug and nasty 3 kisses at my SIL birthday party. I took my kids to the back empty party tent and we danced to Spotify. People laughed and said I was being dramatic about some little flu. But history proved my butt right. Also less than 50% of Dutch people wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Stay antisocial for your own health!

Sure, Billy Porter is sorta stealing the show with that outfit, but I've never seen someone look so unintentionally out of place as poor Joe. I think he was in the moment, but it also looked like he was communing with the spirits of his ancestors at the same time. Either that or high af and staring across the multiverse.

This is who is trying play JAMES BALDWIN 🤦🏾♀️
124
u/womanistaXXI 5d ago
His plan is to betray Baldwin’s legacy by playing him devoid of any political consciousness. He’s just going to focus on his individual gay identity and how black people in particular ostracised him and by what he said it sounded like he’ll treat him as a fetish character to demonstrate how black people ‘bad’ and to place him in the pink economy aka rainbow capitalism devoid of any meaning and context.
I wish he put some thought into it and explored Baldwin’s work and person with its political commitments and intersection of identities and struggles. An example is how Porter supports the Zionist entity and is transferring that to the portrayal of Baldwin. Baldwin was fiercely anti colonial and that included opposition to Zionism.

As a queer POC I honestly think the goal is to make us palatable to white audiences. The worst part is that it's queer people of all types who are pushing this. Biggest example replacing Marsha P Johnson, a black trans woman, with a white twink in the Stonewall biopic.
"Responding to the criticism the film itself received, Emmerich said of his casting choice: "I didn't make this movie only for gay people, I made it also for straight people... As a director you have to put yourself in your movies, and I'm white and gay."
10
u/Lurker242424 ☑️ 5d ago
I totally agree. Every marginalized group is made to be palatable to white audiences, because many of them need to be centered in every space. More importantly, they fear our radicalization, because they think we’ll retaliate for the violence they’ve committed against our communities.

Banger post.
You could probably solve half the problems with contemporary black politics in the US just by answering questions about Billy Porter. Why does he do what he does? How does he get away with it? Why is anyone surprised by any of it? Why don't more people have a ready made critique for Billy Porters like they do for black conservatives?
5
u/womanistaXXI 5d ago
I think liberal politicians and commentators are for the most part strategic in their criticism of liberalism because conservatives have proven to be absolute lunatics. There are many people who make this criticism but they are not mainstream. When it comes to criticism of rainbow capitalism, unfortunately many use the opportunity to parade outright homophobic ideas and valid criticism becomes marginalised. I think this is one of the reasons this type of discussions appear less and less..

He hates black men, so it’s on-brand for him to be kissing white people’s hands and tap dancing while dressed with a bad Tyler Perry-esque wig at the White House.
13
u/womanistaXXI 5d ago
Lol I think he hates black women too. Possibly unrelated but I disliked his character in Pose. I mean the whole show is questionable and it’s related to the usual suspect, Ryan Murphy. I really do mean the show is questionable, not the ballroom community.
16
u/Lemonbunnie 5d ago
why is Pose questionable? i have it on my list and heard only good things?
13
u/Lovely_confusion135 5d ago
It is not questionable, it's actually very good and has great writing. I would highly suggest watching it so you can have your own thoughts on the show. Some people just don't like quality television.
5
u/basil_angel 5d ago
There were some questionable writing choices being made IIRC. Lots of stereotypes and trauma porn. I dropped it after season 2.
