Hmm I would sell all the petrol powered stuff for 10 cents a piece. I'm imagining how many people would want to retrofit their Toyota Prius with a high power boat engine or ride a ridiculous motorcycle instead of buying a new car or whatever. Thus the car industry would crash hard and the world would take a turn for the better.
But I'd definitely keep the MotoGP bikes and pianos to myself.
Sure for a concerto I can see dropping $1000 on a recorder but for a random double for like 16 bars plastic with a fake wood finish is probably good enough.
And there's a market for like 200 of those worldwide. But in 2023 Yamaha sold over 4 million motorcycles. I'd just go with one of their bikes that sells for 30ish thousand, those would all sell in months and I'd be a multi multi multi millionaire.
Sweet, thanks! Your permission was all I was waiting on. Oh no wait. I still need the 5000 free bikes....
Dude the point of these posts is to discuss these hypotheticals. I was just pointing out that 5000 pianos you can't sell would just end up costing you money in storage fees. Get with the game.
I've known enough people that own boats to stay away from them. I did spend just under 8k on a yamaha dirt bike around 7 years ago though, so that's why I know about the motorcycle stuff
You will also have a far easier time selling 5000 motorcycles than 5000 pianos. In both cases you'd probably flood the market and devalue them, but even if you sold all R1s at 50% value you'll end up with like 50 million.
Hell in the UK alone there's over 2000 motorcycle dealers, but only a few hundred piano shops. I doubt any motorcycle dealer wouldn't take a few brand new R1s with all the paperwork off your hands for ~50% price.
The problem is finding someone who actually wants to buy one.
I'm a piano player myself (and a Yamaha owner) and I was just saying to someone the other day, I wouldn't take a grand piano even if someone gave me one for free. A real grand piano is huge, cumbersome, requires tuning and maintenance, etc. I like electronic keyboards and Yamaha makes a lot of them with very realistic action. I currently own the P-515 with real wood keys and a pretty high quality weighted keyboard. I'm thinking about upgrading to the P-525 which supposedly has an even better keyboard that's the same as on their Clavinovas.
Pianos, other musical instruments, various types of sound systems, motorcycles, various engines (a specifically remember they made the V6 in the original Taurus SHO....that was an awesome engine!!)
Yamaha CS-80s would be a good choice, though if there really were 5,000 in existence they'd drop in value quite a lot. (Apparently about 850 were made, and about 500 still exist.)
Dirt bikes and motorcycles and tiny boats and power tools and a lawn mower let’s get all the assorted massage tools, I’m sure they’ve got their hand in a cool chair, kitchen gadgets …
Gimme 6 boat motors, 6 CS-80s, GX-1, FX-1, YC-45d, a couple a TX-816 racks, CP-80m, a MODX7+, a concert grand, a goldwing of every generation, one of those weird turbo bikes, a dozen or so 4AGE, no make that 3 dozen, a marching snare, and a 94 Taurus motor. I’ll take the rest in trombones.
Or you could become a billionare pretty quick. One Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano retails for $194,299.00 USD (even more expensive than their 27 foot supercharged boats). 5000 of these bad boys and you’re sitting on $971,495,000.00
Fun fact! I’ve always wanted to eat at Yamaha. I know that they don’t sell food, but I’ve always imagined it would be a barbecue Texan sushi place. Every time I pass the Yamaha place where I live, I always think damn I would eat at a restaurant called that.

5000 Yamaha's if you know how many different things they make that's a really good choice.
