Anyone else seeing toolbox not working today? [solved]

Toolbox stopped working for me, nothing happened when I clicked the gear icon.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, no good. Now it's not even showing the settings gear icon or bottom bar at all.

The extension shows as greyed out in my extensions manager, which usually means chrome disabled it for not being in the store, but it's the version from the web store...

Installed version is the latest: 6.1.13: "Delaying Donkey"

Thanks to /u/PitchforkAssistant, /u/md28usmc, and others in the Toolbox Discord for helping investigate this while I'm busy with a move. It sounds like the culprit is an update to the Privacy Badger extension which made it start blocking Reddit requests made by Toolbox, and the fix is just to uninstall and reinstall that extension. Let me know if this fix doesn't work and I'll hopefully be able to do more investigation on my end soon.

Same issue. Going to assume it's reddit being big shit.

Not working for me either. I can no longer add user notes. and other things in modmail. The list of subReddits I mod that was next to the gear is also gone.

u/PitchforkAssistant discovered that it's a conflict with the PrivacyBadger extension. I'll quote from their post to the Toolbox Discord:

I had issues with Toolbox too yesterday. It turned out to be Privacy Badger blocking the service worker's requests to reddit.com
I didn't have the dynamic tracker learning thing turned on and the issue persisted after resetting Privacy Badger, so it seems reddit was added to their default list of blocked third party trackers.
I removed it from the list and everything went back to normal.

This has fixed the issue for me.

Thank you and /u/PitchforkAssistant. I had the same issue, and whitelisting the reddit domains in PrivacyBadger solved it.

Having the same issue even with Privacy Badger disabled for this site.

Yes, I'm running into the same issue. I also tried reinstalling and also can't see the settings. Prior to reinstalling it, when I'd click the gear, nothing would happen.

Using 6.1.13 on Chrome.

Yes, not working. I can't backup the setting too.

Edit: Installed version: 7.0.0.3 beta f62218b

Did the beta help? I'm currently on Chrome version 125.0.6422.142 (Official Build) (arm64) on MacOS Sonoma 14.5.

EDIT: It seems to work when using firefox. I restored my settings and it seems to mostly be working, but as I don't normally use Firefox I view this as a workaround.

Did the beta help?

No, I'm using the beta since it was released, worked perfectly until yesterday. It seems all of this started when reddit started pushing the new queue instead of the old queue.

I'll try the firefox, hope it works.

Yeah, as of just a few minutes ago.

It's been working for me. But it seems that Reddit has been doing something in the background, a lot of people using patched third party apps were also having issues.

Yep. Broke for me an hour or two ago. No quick mod action buttons next to usernames for quick bans and mod notes and can't access the settings.

Broken for me in Chrome, working in Firefox.

Filed a bug report https://github.com/toolbox-team/reddit-moderator-toolbox/issues/947
