No, I was reacting to how wildly implausible your idea was regardless of which spectrum it came from. And the admission that you have no idea how discretionary spending ties back to the economy only confirms the idiocy of it.

I didn't say anything about knowing or not knowing? All I said was that I was answering a question about why people would feel like spending money despite feeling like the economy is bad. We live in a country of idiots to begin with, it's not unreasonable that people will make choices that don't make sense for emotional or apathetic reasons.
