Also was painted on the side of my neighbor's barn.

He finally painted over it last month.

You have an epic opportunity for some awesome trolling after last week. Not sure I'd be able to resist.

Nope- these dudes are all armed! I just fly my flag on the off chance that it might re-awaken memories of...patriotism?

There's this dude on my block who just put up a flag, upside down, with ak-47s in the stripes. It's just a regular "middle upper" class neighborhood. Like this is not normal at all.

It’s defacing and disrespecting the flag, which they would be outraged about from anyone else.

also disrespecting the AK47s

One side does it seriously. I have a friend who flies a Joe Biden with Rainbow Aviators flag on a half sized flag pole out of the back of her lifted black pickup truck out of a warped sense of political irony.

She loves the double takes.

I love it!!

Political peacocking and making it your entire identity is very much not normal.

I'm from Northern Ireland, I've observed that as sadly common human behaviour.

I recently saw an upside down thin-blue line flag in front of a house in a fairly nice neighborhood. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean anything beyond "I'm angry"

with ak-47s in the stripes

Ah the rifle that just screams patriotic Russian.

Their patriotism has never meant anything than their belief in a non-existent right to deny human rights to others.

these dudes are all armed!

How do they eat, piss, and shit?

Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Trolling a group of people who have no sense of morality, who currently are humiliated and feel trapped, and who know where you live? That is a recipe for disaster.

Fair point probably a bad idea. This is exactly why the GOPQ thinks they're in the majority and Biden has no support. It's because 1 we don't view politics as our identity and 2 were unclear what might set off our unstable political counterparts with weaker impulse control.

u/WolferineYT Jun 02 '24

Yeah, I tend to avoid being too vocal about my political beliefs around those sociopaths. It's not surprising they rarely hear differing views.

Not even just living next door to them. I live in a fairly blue area but it’s suburban and five minutes from rural outskirts. All it takes is one idiot to drive by and get triggered for a rock to be thrown through my window.

I'm sorry, that is horrible.

I’ve been threatened so many times online ( I hide my identity on Facebook and IG ), no way I am going out of my way to just offer a differing opinion in person. I am not fearful per se, I just don’t want to deal with all the hassle it’s going to throw into my life. These people are seriously deranged. No way I let my neighbor even know my political standings. I just listen to them rant and not really say all that much, most are sociopathic / narcissistic people so they love hearing themselves talk anyway. As I stated a few times, I own a few guns but I am buying more before the next election.

I have my gay pride flag out proudly and live in Louisiana. They'll never get me to shut up :)

Just be careful. The propaganda WILL get worse. This year is going to be AWFUL.

5

u/FunkyHedonist Jun 02 '24

Fuck yeah, bro! I love that you refuse to be intimidated.

Happy Pride Month!!!!

Even if I wanted to publicly troll them like that, I'm not going to waste money on buying things to do it.

I have a flag, but that's just because I felt I should since my house had a flagpole when i moved in.

My little town is a true piece of washed up Americana.

But, the flagpole works with the yard, and has a nice place to plant some flowers around it.

Otherwise, I'm not prone to being overly sentimental when it comes to displaying patriotism.

Ever since Orange Julius was elected, I get creeped out when I see the American flag on display. I feel kind of bad about it... but I can't help my gut reaction now. For me, it's now a symbol of the toothless masses that gave so much power to the Republicans that we lost human rights.

8

u/NuOfBelthasar California Jun 02 '24

I would probably still do it, but I have neither kids nor a sense of self -preservation.

2

u/Terramotus 29d ago

You have a fair point, but I'd also like to point out that if everyone were willing to let their threats of violence silence them, then we might as well hang it up right now for our democracy.

5

u/Ultimate_Shitlord Jun 02 '24

Interesting timing. Did the guy have a moment of lucidity, or what?

2

u/NeatNefariousness1 Jun 02 '24

I wouldn't spend a moment refuting his lies at this point. It's common knowledge.

The fact that he now wants to deny it is an indication that they now don't want to be held to the same standard they were promoting when the shoe was on the other foot. Their inconsistency and lack of principles is a character flaw and their undermining of the rule of law shows what kind of chaos and lawlessness they now favor when it comes to their own positions.

u/Libbyisherenow 29d ago

Please tell us you are going to reciprocate. I know it seems base, but oh so delightful.

u/MysticKoolaid808 26d ago

"Have a change of heart, did we?"  I'd love to hear the response by your neighbor.
