Correct. One of my childhood best friends is albino and is legally blind. He also has a twin brother whose albino and blind, which is apparently a 25% chance as they're not identical. They can read, write, and work certain jobs, but only one of them can drive. They tilt their heads in photos and to read. Very cool dudes.
It’s not uncommon for people with albinism to be legally blind or have pretty bad vision problems. Plus general light sensitivity because there’s not enough melanin in the eye.
It’s likely he asked the reporters to leave that part out. He is definitely vision impaired, I work with someone who is close with him and we heard the local fire station up here start cheering loudly the moment he was found
