So my wife and I have a house where he's from. Yeah it's wilderness.....but it's not lost for 10 days wilderness.

Someone else above said it's a 5mi x 1mi area. Even in super harsh terrain, you're a few hours from just walking out.

10 days got me about 120 miles on the sheltowee trace. something doesn't add up.

Okay, so I'm in the Bay Area and I hike a lot but I don't see berries anywhere. I'm trying to remember the last time I saw them, and I think it was at this family campground instead of a hiking trail. I guess it's possible that there were blackberries? But you know the area — does the berries part of his story make sense?

There's a blackberry bush down the street from our house, so that checks out. But I'm trying to imagine getting lost for 10 days in the Big Basin area. It doesn't make sense. It's literally halfway between San Jose and Santa Cruz. People everywhere.

Yeah, I can't imagine getting lost on any hiking trail around here. People are everywhere. And there are actual trails! It's not like an uncharted wilderness. It feels like a combination of mental illness, drugs, and con artistry for financial gain.
