Poor guy at the bottom is getting waterboarded!

It’s okay, because he said he started the fire and is part of an organization that is planning to start more.

I was just going with torture leading to false confessions and misinformation.

It's only waterboarding if you put a cloth on his face. Otherwise it's just getting water in your face.

My back is going to hurt for the next 3 days from watching them lift those buckets up the ladder

u/Xerosnake90 3d ago
Rotator cuff and shoulders are going to get torn up. This looks brutal lol

u/bluepaul 3d ago
Yes, if you sit at a desk all day, and never exercise beyond lifting a burger, sure.
Flippancy aside, if they're strong enough to do it, and used to the movement patterns, then likely no significant risk of harm. That's like me saying someone doing a pull up +80kg is going to hurt them. It sure would hurt me, probably strain something just holding the bar. But to someone who has trained it? Very doable, obviously.

I currently have a herniated disc and have also had shoulder and knee surgeries in the past. This looks like a nightmare.

When I was young I thought firefighters were so fucking awesome! Then I got older and worked installing radios in their firetrucks and found out I was completely right.

I think they had more water on the guy at the bottom of the ladder than they did in those buckets by the time they made it to the top

Yeah the first guy on the ladder kept smacking his hand into the water every single time. There probably wasn't even hardly any water left in there lol

Or just use the hose that filled that tub
1
u/NSLEONHART 2d ago
Not every fire scenario has the previledge access to a hose, or the hose is not long enough to reach the fire in an efficiemt distance. Firefrighters needs to be adapt to puting out fires in every scenario possible, that includes not having a hose

Do they just have unlimited buckets?

u/what-the-puck 2d ago
They're being thrown back down, most are behind the camera since it's closer to the water source and ladder, but at 0:12 one is in view

If you like team work races, you might like Japanese Tech Rope Rescue Competitions.

They'd probably get more water to the top if they weren't rushing and splashing everywhere

u/spence505 3d ago
The one where they ride basically ride a dragster down the street and throw up a ladder is pretty cool too.

In real life, by the time they can all put on white shirts and black pants to look like a fit and organized crew the place has burnt down. But at least they looked good trying to dress for the occasion.

My team leads example of team work is his fucking any female willing and sitting with his feet up and on his phone all shift as the rest of us bust our asses doing 30+k steps a shift.

u/polaris1988 3d ago
If fire fighting was a private service not funded by the government those would be a minimum of $500 a bucket. Or we can negotiate while your house burns down. This crew would be rich.

Or…use a hose and a hydrant…act like we live in the 21st century…
Fucking ancient civilizations had more sophisticated methods than this shit
