I've described this market as "the kind of people that go on cruises." not adventurous but they still like theme parks and beaches and might hit up the Ripley's believe it or not after eating at Dick's or margaritaville.

The opposite of this demographic would be the "the kind of people that complain about Mcdonalds." they would go out of their way to find a hole in the wall pho restaurant but would rate their experience more on the number of white people they see eating there (lower = better) than how much they actually enjoyed the food.

It can also be both! I love the hole-in-the-wall pho restaurant but also love Olive Garden.

And I love McDonald’s but hate white people.

When travel, I really want to try the local chains or places for dining. Or try a chain we don't have in my home market.

But I'm not eating Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, etc on vacation.

I judge a new area by proximity to target/Starbucks. If I don't see any, I'm not going.

Plenty of adventurous people go on cruises. I think people forget they actually take you to a bunch of destinations, and you don’t have to deal with flying, finding places to stay, rental cars, etc. They’re actually a pretty smart way to travel. I’ve done lots of self-guided international travel but it can be a lot of work. Cruises are like a real vacation, and are often really good value.
