I mean, Target has never been an LGBTQ+ ally. Ever. The only reason why they were temporarily selling LGBTQ+ stuff was to save face after they got busted. But any time conservatives have spoken out, they have removed stuff and/or replaced anti-LGBTQ+ things (like a transphobic book full of lies and fear-mongering).

Targets are like gay havens, at least where I live. (MN)

Target has most certainly portrayed itself as an LGBT+ friendly corporation proactively and not necessarily in response to some uncovered wrongdoing. Itโ€™s just always been corporate and profit-driven, which are much stronger motivators than avoiding some degree of public criticism. This comment also just says โ€œbustedโ€ with no explanation as to what that refers to or generally means. Kinda dumb, tbh. Queer prosperity and corporatism are just antithetical to one another, completely.

Lady Gaga was the one who uncovered that Target was donating to anti-LGBTQ+ conservative groups after releasing her Born This Way album. That's when they started doing their cleanup and barely selling Pride merch.

They have since been hot and cold with LGBTQ+ people, taking away LGBTQ+ items and allowing anti-LGBTQ+ stuff as well. Whenever conservatives fight them, they immediately bend the knee and do what they want.
