Playing Fallout 1 on my phone

Post image

I just arrived in Junktown, had to reload a previous save because of a quest. Overall, loving it so far.

I’ve seen it posted for android. Not sure if they’re using that or iPhone. I’d love to play classic fallout on my iPhone if it’s possible.

Gotta provide your own FO game files (I just emailed them to myself over Gmail) and install FO2 exe from the play store on android

People always ask "how" and don't stop to think on "why"

Exactly. That's a horrible way to play it.

Nope, it's too good. This app is pretty optimized and when you get over the learning curve of the controls it gets perfect and you can play everywhere. Prefer 100x times the app than the PC.

Clearly you are joking...

No. But why are you gatekeeping enjoying fallout in the phone? You probably didn't even try. I replayed fallout 1 vanilla and now replaying fallout 2 restoration project, already got th geck. All on the phone.

Gatekeeping? Please... Criticizing your choice if platform is not gatekeeping.

But to each its own. If you prefer to play command & conquer with a controller or tomb raider with a telegraph, please do.

Still weird as fuck and most people will call you weird.

FO2.exe. you will need to have purchased the game prior.

Are you playing with a bluetooth mouse? Ill be honest that seems like a nightmare to play without a ready keyboard and either mouse or trackpad. For example the number keys are shortcuts like when you press 2 you lockpick pr three you pickpocket and 8 is either scoence or repair.

It's a bit tedious but honestly it's not that bad considering it's designed for K+M. I had fun playing it on my phone

Once you get the hang of it its surprisingly fluid and enjoyable

No, i'm not. About the shortcuts, you can press one button to make your keyboard show up and the shortcuts do work, but it's annoying seeing the keyboard covering half the screen, however, there's a separate keyboard just for the number keys so it's not that bad playing without a keyboard n' mouse.

Fo2.exe is perfection.

Agree. Fo2.exe Vault edition is even better

I tried using it to play Sonora, but it takes forever to transfer the files.

You can activate Hi-Res patch to play fullscreen.. if you want

I know, but the hud gets way too small on my phone so I don't mind playing without the patch.

I was doing my first serious playthrough of 1 last week (not done yet, don't want it to end tbh) but I was thinking that it would be a pretty good phone game with its point-and-click interface and menu management. I could imagine swapping the movement cursor for the interaction one might be tricky without the benefit of right-click though.

Not really, there's a button with the sole purpose of being the right-click, otherwise, u can hold the finger on the screen to change it although I prefer the former.

Would this work on a tablet as well? iPad perhaps?
