Microsoft should follow suit. It's a good standard, especially for games that can't do 60 fps.

I’ve been playing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC at 40fps with VRR (gsync) and it’s to my eyes as smooth as 60fps. Would love this to be an option, even if it can’t be the standard for those without 120hz/VRR

Damn. I'm playing it at around 100 fps at 4k with Gsync. Wish it had frame gen.

and the feeling is like 2/3 the way of what 60 is instead of only being a 1/3 jump like the amount of extra frame would indicate.

They already have full VRR support which is a better solution.

Even Sony admitted as much when they patched the PS5 and all their 40fps/120hz games with VRR support in 2022.
