Good write up! Haven’t read Misery #1 or Rat City #3 yet, but I agree that RC got better from its first to second issue, so I’m glad that trend is continuing.
I was really looking forward to Monolith, but despite how much I enjoy both creators it just isn’t doing anything for me. Feels like it’s answering questions no one was asking in a sort of worst-type-of-Star-Wars way. The art is great though!
Monolith feels like the quintessential critique of spawn: the arts great and the story less so. Tbf on a technical level I think the creative team are fine, I just don’t really care. Which is odd because something about space demon alien he man feels like something I should be able to care about.
