Michael's head caught fire during the filming of a Pepsi commercial in 84. You can read about it on the link, but basically he had portions of his skull exposed due to the damage.

It's arguably the incident that ultimately killed him, as it kicked off his painkiller addition.

Yes, and:
MJ released Thriller and became a solo star, and intended to stop working with his family band, the Jacksons. Family pressure led to a final album and huge tour, and the intention to milk every dime out of that cash cow led to the Pepsi sponsorship. MJ supposedly disliked soda and never drank it.

You also just never hear anything about the group Jackson five after he left. Almost like he was THE cast cow.

Yes, Alfonso Robiro was one of the many child stars who was close to MJ.

Peter here, Quagmire wanted to answer for some reason but anyway, you can see in the picture The King of Pop - that’s what they called an old-timey musician named “Michael Jackson” - here we see The King of Pop shilling for soda pop with a bunch of kids, during the height of the Coke / Pepsi wars in the mid 1980s (I’m gunna say 1985 judging by his nose and skin tone.) Now given - and You’d be forgiven for not knowing this - but given that The King of Pop would be followed by serious rumours and allegations of child abuse for, I dunno, 25 years, the ad campaign has aged very badly.
As a side note, Michael Jackson is still a hot topic at amateur comedy nights, despite being dead for (checks watch) FIFTEEN YEARS oh man do i feel old

I’m gonna assume this is because of Michael Jackson’s allegations (SA), and the fact he once did an ad for Pepsi. God would be on Coca-Cola’s side in this case because they didn’t hire Michael Jackson

Pepsi did hire him, then tried to help a lot of future victims out by setting him on fire
Sadly it didn’t work
