[Windhorst] OG Anunoby is not ‘thrilled’ with the Knicks’ current offer and will test the market: “Let’s keep an eye on that. Most people believe he will stay with New York, but there have been indications he may want to test the market, because he’s not thrilled with what the Knicks are offering.”

RJ's contract was essentially role player money. It was not nearly as bad as people made it seem. For reference, guys who made the same amount as money as him this year are Wiggins, Jordan Clarkson, Rozier, Brogdon, John Collins, Brice Brown.

His inconsistency was an issue and trading him was the right move but the contract itself is not nearly as bad when you look at the overall nba landscape.

His contract wasn't bad at all. It's actually a great contract since he started playing better in Toronto.

your list of comparables is literally a list of overpaid/bad contracts

I mean how is RJ one of the worst contracts in the league then when there are far worse contracts/players? These are just the guys around his pay level. There are so many starters and bench players around his pay that are at his level or worse. If anything that just shows the market for these players.

He was the worst high usage player in the NBA for 3 straight seasons prior to the trade. There wasn’t many players worse than him.

There are plenty of guys near his pay range that are worse than him. His contract was not good but given the raise in cap and how much role players are being paid, it's hardly close to one of the worst. Regardless OG needs to be paid because we lose out on two bodies for nothing if he doesn't re-sign
