Anyone else iffy with how weak Mark is in comparison to the comics?

On one hand I like it. Makes his eventual OP feel earned.

On the other hand ;-; why did they have to do him like that

this episode makes sense tbh, he's still recovering from Battle Beast's beatdown and his confidence is at an all time low

Not so much that, I'd just chalk it up to inexperience, recent injury and being really out of it due to the Amber/Invincible stuff

I agree, but I also remember him getting his ass kicked by the Reanimen in the comics, what my problem is is that it took DA Sinclaire weeks in the comics to fully turn Rick into a Reanimen, but in the show it happened in less than thirty minutes.

Yeah also the reanimen in the comics seemed to be more enhanced, in this one it basically seemed like Sinclair was just swapping human parts for robot parts which shouldn't have hurt mark that much.

Did they replace Gary because they decided against the abuse storyline? That's the only logical reason I can think off...

But you could do Gary and just not do the abuse storyline. I never thought they would ever touch that storyline anyway. It’s arguably the weakest moment in the comics, and I can see modern Kirkman wanting to axe that entirely.

Because it was so real. It his so close to home, and was all the more impactful for the gross reality of the subject matter.

I dunno. 3 pages isn’t what any other topics have had in the series. That was one of maybe 4 things that rubbed me the wrong way the entire series.

I'm pretty sure viltrumites do get stronger when they get their ask kicked. It just takes them weeks to get better not days. More of i'll beat you next time instead of a second wind like Saiyans get.
